Instructions for Teflon Connector installation

  1. Cut wire so that return line is about three times as long as signal line.
  2. Strip signal line about 1/8 inch and insert into tube and check that the return line will extend through hole
  3. Solder signal line into center post.
  4. Pull return line through hole on top of connector.
  5. Cut and insert a small section of the clear plastic tube if needed.
  6. Insert Plastic screw to hold both clear tube and wire in place. Do not overtighten.
  7. Cut screw and save for other connectors.
  8. Measure and strip return wire so that it will solder to the bottom side of return strip.
  9. Pre solder wire and return strip.
  10. Cut tang on return strip to required length (you may also attach the return wire at this point)
  11. Install return strip and tie down the back end by wrapping Teflon tape around the tang.
  12. Heat return strip with return wire touching the strip to create a bond
  13. Let cool
  14. Slide shrink over entire assembly so that it extends over the front by 1/8 inch.
  15. Heat with heat gun carefully to avoid melting shrink.
  16. Use needle nose pliers to press return strip into concave shape.
  17. Twist left and right when installing for the first time.
  18. If it does not fit use needle nose pliers to press.
  19. Twist left and right again while pushing connector on.
  20. Connector will fit very easily after the first time.
  21. Sit back and enjoy the clarity that removing the brass can give.
